A New Zealand inspired post today as it’s all official…WE ARE MOVING HOME!! I am so excited. It’s been an amazing 3 years in Sydney and I’ve absolutely loved it here but it’s just time to go home.
I cannot wait for long family dinners, summer days at Piha, shopping with my besties, cups of tea with my Mum, rugby games with my Dad, learning to snowboard this winter, shopping at farmers markets, road trips around the country and dancing to my favourite band.
Let the job hunting/house hunting/car hunting begin!

winter wonderland
Because I’ve lived in Sydney for the past few I haven’t really had a super cold winter. And this year I’m actually looking forward to it! So many new fashion choices
It’s going to be all about layering and continuing to wear pretty summer dresses even on those freezing days.
White cream dress with an edgy leather jacket & stilettos boots. A beautiful cashmere scarf (I’m so lucky that one of my gorgeous girlfriends gave me one for my birthday last year!), a ladylike bag and House of Harlow accessories.
I’m up for braving the cold when dressed with this!
(I know it’s only February but I’m totally asking for House of Harlow for my birthday! I love Nicole Richie’s designs!)

Introductions…
So I’ve done a few posts in this blog now and I thought it’s about time I did one about me to introduce myself properly. Here’s a general FAQ page about yours truly and the things that make my life amazing :)
Name: Kelly
From: Auckland, New Zealand but living in Sydney, Australia with my boyfriend. We are right by the beach and i love it.
My favourite things are photography, travel, fashion, sports, and my best friends.
* TRAVEL *
I’d been on small holidays to the Gold Coast and Fiji when I was younger but my first taste of travelling was when I moved to Perth, Australia when I was 21. I lived in the outback town of Northam and worked in a bar for 4 months. The people I met there changed my life and made me realise how much there is to experience in the world, and how many people there are to meet.
After Perth I headed over to Sydney for a quick visit to family and then to Europe…1 week in Rome and 1 week travelling around Tuscany with my uncle, and then a crazy 6.5 week camping tour around Europe with Contiki.
The following year I travelled by myself through Bangkok and Southern Thailand.
I wanted to show my parents Europe so we booked 7 weeks away – 1 week in Rome, 4 weeks travelling around central and northern Italy by train, 1 week in Paris/London and 1 in Morocco. Seriously amazing experiences. I love Italy.
My lastest overseas adventure was a crazy globe hopping trip with my boyfriend – 48 hours in Beijing, 1 week in Dubai and 2 weeks in the USA, driving from San Francisco to San Luis Obispo to LA to Las Vegas. The best time ever!
My travel bucket list now includes: China to volunteer with pandas, a G Adventures tour with the backroad of Japan, Kenya/Tanzania/Zanzibar and Cuba.
* PHOTOGRAPHY *
Travel made me love photography. I wanted to capture every moment. I love travel photography, street photography, food photography and fashion. I love my Nikon D40 DSLR, Camera+ app on my iPhone, Instagram, toy cameras, fish eyes and regular point and shoots (because I’m a girl and we all love the self portraits on a night out!). I love photo editing and Photoshopping pictures too. I’ve worked with up and coming models on photoshoots for their portfolios and I love it. I’m currently looking for a new point and shoot…watch this space.
* FASHION *
Obviously I love fashion otherwise I wouldn’t post about it so much! I’m obsessed with leopard print and pink. My dream is to own a true Louis Vuitton bag. I love MAC cosmetics and will never have enough. Soon I’m going to buy a total wardrobe overhaul.
* SPORTS *
I am addicted. my boyfriend thinks it’s fantastic! I am a massive Rugby League, Rugby and Cricket fan. I play touch footy, I go to the gym almost everyday, I love to run. I love playing netball and softball. Basketball, NFL, AFL, netball, baseball..if it’s on I’ll watch it. Too competitive.
* FRIENDS AND FAMILY*
My boyfriend is 100% my favourite person in the world and my best friend. I am always so thankful we found each other because we have so much fun together. My BFF I’ve know since we were 8 years old and have lived in the same street since then. We’ve been in the same classes at school, played in the same sports teams, wore the same clothes, even drove the same car and worked on the same street when we got jobs! We can talk in code and understand each other. We have so many crazy memories. My life will never be complete if we aren’t in the same city & I cannot wait until we are reunited sooooooooon!! My parents are my biggest support, I love spending time with them. And I have a labrador called Jaz who is amazing and super cute.

Angel Porrino…Miss Las Vegas
I have a confession to make…i am a reality tv addict. and my fave show at the moment is ‘Holly’s World’. I picked up the DVD set while in Las Vegas and I’m addicted. Seriously, those girls are living the dream! Angel Porrino is amazing, she’s so funny, so funny and full of life. I love her style too…always fun! And that hair! Amazing!
I want that leopard coat. and those pink jeans!
corporate inspiration
honesstly, i hate ‘work’ clothes. i don’t life uniforms and i don’t like plain (boring) suits. i believe that you have to let your personality shine through in the way that you dress; you feel more comfortable in clothes that make you feel like yourself and I think it does help you enjoy your job more. my favourite corporate yet funky style is skinny jeans, a cute blouse, tailored blazer and crazy shoes…I just cannot buy ordinary shoes! A cute blazer makes any outfit look more professional. For jobs that require suits, add accessories and colourful shoes!

time for tea
is there ever a time that’s not perfect for tea?
iced teas and cupcakes for a garden party with your girlsfriends, or steaming cups of milky earl greys while reading a great novel on a rainy day. a cup of green to re-energise your day and a mug full of english toffee or choc chip chai as a special treat. tea is my favourite drink for any occasion. A pretty selection of tea party inspired images for your viewing pleasure on a Sunday night. x
48 hours in Beijing
To be honest I never thought about going to China, it never crossed my mind that it could be amazing, I never imagined eating authentic Chinese food and walking around Chinese markets. However when we booked super cheap Air China flights to take us to Dubai we thought why not have a 48 hour stopover in Beijing, simply because we can! And I loved it! We started out with a early morning at the Great Wall of China (with no one else around which is totally surreal), braved the cold to walk through temples and parks, joined in with Tai Chi, avoided getting run over by the insane traffic, ate dumplings and tofu and steamed buns, tried bubble tea for the first time, checked out the local vege markets and stayed in a beautiful 5 star hotel. Beijing you are crazy but I’m so glad I got to experience this!
The Cherry Blossom Girl
I discovered this blog the other day and I am totally 100% in love! I’ve been viewing every single page of her travel photography and I’m so inspired by it.
I love the cool retro feel to all the photos, and how she captures the details so well. I need to learn to photograph like this while I’m travelling…small details rather than trying to cram everything into one picture. Her pictures of Kenya are absolutely stunning and have shown me a totally different side to the country. Who knew it wasn’t just about safaris and the Masi Mara?! The resort she stayed at looks amazing (and Kenya has cemented it’s place in my top 3 next must see destinations).
And even though I live in Australia I have realised that I need to capture so many more details so this amazing country; sometimes you take the things that are close to you too much for granted.
Below are a selection of her travel photographs (as a fashion school graduate and former employee of she also blogs about fashion and beauty so she’s truly a girl after my own heart!)
